Re: New Tattoo

I was'nt passing judgement, there brother, I was just curious about how it is reflected in the MODERN DAY CHURCH!. I spent alot of my life in the CATHOLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM. And am sickened by how they have treated some of the shit that has happened. I am not a person that is judgemental, me personally I don't have a tattoo and probably never will, not my thing. I respect your choice to do so, and others that do it as well. My wife has one, does'nt bother me in the least. I was just curious about all the religious statements made with tattoo's. I have a old friend that owns 2 ink shops and is well respected in his field. I have another buddy who owns a shop and a few buddies who are artist. All good people. I have friends and relatives who are covered, full sleeves, I still love and respect them with or without ink. I am someone who ask's alot of questions, some times peoplelook at it as I am trying to be a shit stirrer, not at all I am curious, and want to know, thanks for the link. I will read it. Don't think I was calling you out, was just curious what your church/pastor/preacher/priest or whatever they are calling themselves these days think and say about them. Good luck with the new ink, I hope it will do everything you hope it will do for you in the future..

You're fine... you didn't step on any toes here. I am proud of the ink that I can use as a witness to others and be able to tell people of how He has helped me through my times of need.

So, wanna meet up for the first tat?

Agree. Didn't feel like you were stepping on any toes. I was just hoping to share some information to answer your question.

While most guys get tattoo's I collect SCAR's.....Some where given to me by others, some where gotten while giving some to others (back in the day, to old for that shit now). and a few here and there by Doctors. Most people that meet me usually think I have some ink. I just never really gave it any thought to have any, just never tickled my fancy. My friend that owns some shops told me he would give me my first one free(kinda like a crack dealer) if I would let him do it. I will never say never, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. Thanks for the offer, if I change my mind I will let you know...I think I will just stick to having doctors cut me up and sticking metal objects in my body for function, not fashion... I for sure don't want to get into a debate about ink and the Lord. Personaly it's a matter of how you were raised and the mind set that your up bringing gave you. I remember being in church in the summer time without AC and preachers wearing long sleeve shirts while they stood with a rag wiping their wet, hot face. Why? Because they had gotten ink up in the Navy or ? and have nasty ink so they covered them out of respect. Times change and so do people. There is not one person I know that lives the way the bible was interpreted 100 years ago. I'm not saying they are not living right just times change. Defacing your temple to me is doing harmfull things to it or having something nasty on your skin. Such as a F.O. tat or whatever. I have ink but I keep it where people can't see it. I done it for what I have been through. Mine are personal reminders and that is why I keep them covered. If I chose to get one on my forarm I would. would bother me. I'll be getting more this summer. I see nothing wrong with ink as long as it's in good taste. It's a form of art and when I'm dead this body isn't going to heaven with my soul. I think as Ryan said it does make you wonder what others think. In my church it is unheard of to get ink done. A preacher that came into church with new ink on his arm and trying to preach the word of God would more than likely be ask to leave the church. Now with saying that it also says to serve God and not man. Are we worried about what God would think or what our fellow man would think? I think alot of us worry about what our fellow man thinks. I'll serve God and if I think it's wrong to do it in Gods eyes then I won't but as far worrying about my fellow man?? They can talk all they want. I'll see them on the other side if God lets them in. Remember it also say Don't judge unless they be judged. Very Happy
I can't see the pic Andy. Where the INK!!!!!! I want to see..

My wife and I were talking yesterday about getting something unique and together. She went to a funeral of one of our church's deacons and in the sermon our pastor mentioned something that Rick had in his bible. He found a frog bookmark in it and thought it was kinda funny that he had it in there. He turned it over and on the back wrote "Forever Rely On God". So she is trying to talk me into getting a frog somewhere... I dunno about you guys, but I just can't see a "frog" on me. Maybe the abbreviations but a tat of a frog just doesn't seem too..... uh.... manly. Knowing her, she will find someway to talk me into it.... or maybe I can find someway to talk her out of it. Update later.
