It will be a while. I still have to break the engine in. I'll be taking it easy on her for a while.

I drove her around the block today. I still needed to do some wiring work so I did it in front of the house. Even though I only drove it around the block it was fun to see people holding their hands over their ears as I idled by. lol

Re: 1934 Dodge. The Stewart mini van
I was bored and I needed to break up the black on the hot rod. I was gonna run flames but I figured something easy 'cause they will be taken off when I mess with the body work again. Two days of prep and only the best paint was sprayed.

Re: 1934 Dodge. The Stewart mini van
Best paint? House of Color? nope. More like Home Depot's Hardware Store.lol
Each side took me about and hour to tape up, no prep work other than to wipe off the mud off, spray bomb it and outline it in white.

I'm no pinstriper but the white lines make it stand off the car..

Re: 1934 Dodge. The Stewart mini van
I had Car X bend some pipes and add some cherrybombs to the car. I drove in with an open header hot rod and came out with a rusty Pinto sounding exhaust. $150.00 for two bends and I already had the mufflers. I made it about 5 blocks before the hanger weld broke loose. I was going to take it back but I figured if they couldn't do a better job than that I'd just weld it myself. I could put in some tunes now and hear them over the pipes!

With the Rabbit Hash Cruise coming up tomorrow I went out in the garage to make me a hood. Everyone is freaking out over the rain and I figured it would stink to get my dizzy wet and be off on the side of the road. I thought about it for a while and my style of hot rod is no fenders or hood stripped to the bone, light and fast rod. I don't want a hood. how do I keep the rain out of the dizzy? I looked around and seen my Rt. 66 sign hanging on the wall. A little grinding, couple holes drilled and stuck in the break to give it a bend was good enough for a dizzy cover.

I also paint my breathers to match what little bit of checker board I had on the engine already.

Atta boy Reb. That's great. Really an improvment. Can't wait to see it in person. Etc, Etc..........you know the rest
How can I miss you if you won't go away?
Re: 1934 Dodge. The Stewart mini van
The one thing I never liked was the jump ramp rearend of the car. I never change those ugly taillights because I know I was going to do something crazy if I kept it.

Too late to turn back now.

Re: 1934 Dodge. The Stewart mini van
Yea definitly one of those points were there is no turning back
“That journey to Rouen was a terrible embarrassment to Jesse and me, for on the long straights across France, that great bulbous Oldsmobile coupe with the trailer and racing car on the back sat behind us no matter what we did. We both rowed our little Porsches along as hard as we could, and the Miller entourage just sat there in our mirrors. When we stopped, Ak removed his cigar and asked, ‘Your little cars okay?’”
Re: 1934 Dodge. The Stewart mini van
You are going to french those taillights into the new panel right?
