lol nope. I'm stuck on what taillights to use. I have a set of 47 Chevy's but don't like the shape. I may run 1950 Pontiacs but it seems everyone has them anymore.

That thing really looks great (I can't see the pix here at work). It's coming right along. You're making great progress. I can't wait to see it.

Re: 1934 Dodge. The Stewart mini van
I was going to just cut off the dove tail but after looking at the back it was butchered and patches were all welded in the back of it.

Here's what they had in it for a gas tank. It must be a 40 Gal. tank. That will not be going back in.

Looks like a few gas filler holes through out the years and two holes that was for the swing down rack that was on the back were all patched up. I cut off the bad and looked to see what I had to work with. The rear section of the floor was waisted too. Who ever welded on that jump ramp in the back didn't bother welding it to the floors. the back section of the body just floated there with only the 1/4's hold it up. No wonder it sounded like it was falling apart. IT WAS!

couple more inches cut off

Some round tubing was tacked on to the bottom and then the twisting and tugging to get the metal to bend the way I wanted it to began.

The english wheel took a few turn for the side panels

Corey sit on the inside with the dolly while I tried to tell him where to put it so I could strike it. It took a while but he got the hang of hit.
I was wanting to hit the car shows this weekend so I was up to 1 a.m. working on it to get it roughed in. It's shaped in and the funny marks are from the grinder to give the mud something to grip.

I slapped some mud over the welds and shot a thin coat of red primer over the metal to keep rust away.
This is at the Newport Car Show. Chad wanted to make some sound when we showed up, if you look at the headers he uncorked the dumps

I didn't sand the bondo or anything. I still have some metal work to do on the upper part and no the taillights are not staying there. I put them back on just for the weekend.
It looks rough but that mud is pretty thin.

I can only see one pic here at work but it sure looks better W/O the “whale tail” rear section.
How can I miss you if you won't go away?
Re: 1934 Dodge. The Stewart mini van
What a difference it has made. A little cutting and welding. It's lookin good Steve! Chad took them off because he didn't want Steve sounding like a pansie..

This might solve some ignition problems.

hooked up the gas tank up today and spent most of the day fabbing up shock mounts. I put a set of gas shock on it but it rides rougher now than before. I think the car is so light that the gas shocks are too much for it. I'll find some cheapies and see how they do. I may try to go to Beatersville over the weekend so Chad hooked me up some tune to listen to on the way down. Thanks Chad

I figured you'd still be upset over Steve not givng you the piece of wood back. (that didn't sound right)RustyKarr wrote:No prob. I'm still torn between a few things. Damn GAS PRICES!

Re: 1934 Dodge. The Stewart mini van
This may look a little funny until it's all done. I did a little mud work on the cowl and shot some white. Corey wants to have some stripes laid out on it at the Beatersville show. I didn't do the firewall because it will be replaced with a piece of stainless or aluminum. Anyone have any??

I need a paint booth.
between the primer, paint and the air kicking on an off I'm sure everyone on the block was ready to call the fuzz..

I also made some heat sheilds for the cowl. The header were causing the paint to boil so few peices of aluminum was cut up and washer behind the ribbits to pull it a 1/4" away from the cowl.
