Re: 47 Chevy Fleetline
now on to the rear end issue:
the hole in the leaf spring perch was much larger then the center bolt on the leaf spring of the 47. with the hole being to big will the rear end wabble back and forth? if it does then ill need to buy tires constatly right?
i can buy different weld in perches with the right center bolt hole which would eliminate the wabbling.
the springs on the 47 will they hold up to the power and torque from the small block and the pontiac rear end. if i use these springs i will have to re build the shackles on both sides. including the new leaf spring perches and rebuilding the existing shackles im gonna be out $100.00.
couldnt i take the lear springs and shackles off the s10 and replace onto the 47 then use the pontiac rear end instead of the s10 rear. i have a good welder lined up so welding isnt a problem.
all input is appreciated. its gonna be awhile before it sees the road anyways so if its smarter to use the s10 leaf springs and shackles im all for it...

Re: 47 Chevy Fleetline
I'll have to take a look at what you are talking about. I think you can get by with what ya have. I'll take a look sometime this week after ya get off work.
If you don't like my dinged and dented hot rod sitting next to yours, put yours back on it's trailer and leave!
