A little off track here but I found a guy that had a trunk lid for sale and went tonight and bought it. The deck lid is perfect. Not a ding in it. What was cool was his driver.
.

It seems that gear heads are coming out of the wood work around here. He took me in the house to look at some pics of his brothers 34 Ford. INJECTED, BLOWN Ford. I was shocked when I seen his house. I would have loved to take some pics but thought he may think I was nuts. 3 carb intake and chrome valve covers on the kitchen table. All kind of old signs and tin laying around. juke box, mag wheels and even his tv was an old tube, round face black and white from the 50's. BIG stand up Coke cooler. this pad was bad. It's funny how there are a lot of guys getting into the same old stuff we are into. Pretty cool. Oh yea. he's also got an early 30's Dodge he's working on. Smile

I bought some wheels for the Monte. Last night Corey and I jacked it up and stuck them on. Not my first choice but they will do for a while. Set of Astro Supremes with nice rubber.

Sometimes Corey doesn't know how strong he is. He proved it again last night when he broke the inside door handle off the car. I made him go to the junkyard I have been going to so he could take one off. It was an unexpected exspence but on the upside Corey learned how to drill out ribbits and use a ribbit gun.

I got a kick out of the junkyard sign. This is an old drive in converted into a wrecking yard.

This is off the track a little too but I always have my eyes open for old iron. This is what we found on the way to the junkyard.
When was the last to you saw one of these?

“That journey to Rouen was a terrible embarrassment to Jesse and me, for on the long straights across France, that great bulbous Oldsmobile coupe with the trailer and racing car on the back sat behind us no matter what we did. We both rowed our little Porsches along as hard as we could, and the Miller entourage just sat there in our mirrors. When we stopped, Ak removed his cigar and asked, ‘Your little cars okay?’”

I know that sign. That yard is on Kellogg? I remember seeing it on my trips to Lunken Airport.

I went to Dayton Ohio last night and bought some stuff Cole had for the Monte. I came home with a dash, door panels and the kicker panels. That will be a big boost in getting the car done. Met up with Doug while I was there. So after we went through the Monte stuff we went out and got a burger and hung out untill they almost kicked us out.
Today I got into the garage and welded the bracket into the trunk that hold the trunk down. The old owner cut it out for some reason and put hood pins to hold it down. Fixed the leaking gas line, replaced the trunk lid and cut the trailer hitch off.

The Monte is gone. This extra car that was going to be flipped ended up as Amy bomber. She has now found something she's likes better than the Monte. I guess getting her that Yaris must have rubbed off on her. She now owns another Toyota? I'll post pics later. All I can say is that it's one ugly car...
