Amy's Foryota

Post by RebStew on June 4th 2008, 6:20 pm

I Figured I post up some pics of Amy's new ride. It's a 1988 Toyota Supra. Not sure on any plans on the car yet other than body work and paint.

Are you wondering why Amy would trade her Monte off for a Toyota? I guess the sound of the dual exhaust got to her. This Toyota is packing a V8 out of a new Mustang. Who ever did this engine swap knew what they were doing. I'm not sure why someone would do it but it's in there and everything is hooked up. All the computer wiring and everything from the 'Stang.

Foryota?

I've seen SBC's in Supra's before, but never a modular 4.6L. That was a lot of work. I bet it will SUPRISE a few people on the street! Good Luck!!

Yes the exhaust got me. Just kidding I never even heard it run or even seen it. But when I heard it was fast, I had to have it. Never did I think I'd have a Ford running me around town. Yes the exhaust sounds good and to think Steve is trying to get me to make it quieter.. Can't wait to get some work done to the Foryota... (paint is a MUST asap)

If a ford 5.0 can be squeezed in a Miata anything is possible,it looks like a tight fit and would think a 5.0 would be easier. Jeff

Thats pretty cool. And it definitly needs a paint job.
“That journey to Rouen was a terrible embarrassment to Jesse and me, for on the long straights across France, that great bulbous Oldsmobile coupe with the trailer and racing car on the back sat behind us no matter what we did. We both rowed our little Porsches along as hard as we could, and the Miller entourage just sat there in our mirrors. When we stopped, Ak removed his cigar and asked, ‘Your little cars okay?’”

Amy i hate to break the news to you that 4.6 is not out of a mustang its out of a 83-97 lincoln mark 8 and heres another twist its a four cam motor similear to the ones that they put in a corbra mustang the biggest difference is a lincoln has the throttle body in the rear of the intake and a cobra has it in the middle where a carb would sit a lincoln as a intake that looks like snakes on top and a crobra is sealed anyway this thing should flat scream and they are know for great gas milage and power out the wasoue!!!! in that small boby it wont be a winter time car no traction put a set of slicks on it and punch it to the floor if you got the nerve itl lbe a wild ride i had a 83 Mark IiiV and 140 is the top end on the speedo and its not there for looks it will do it i know from experince should be a hoot to drive!!! Very Happy

From what I've heard it is a 4 cam but I didn't know about the difference in the intake for the Stang. It hooks up. It has traction control on it. Very Happy

We started on some body work. There are a lot of small dings and dents on the body. Nothing crazy but all of them right in the body lines or on a curve. We also removed the third brake light, rear windshield wiper and motor. A hole was left over and welded up from the wiper arm. Emblems were shaved. All this was done in order for a cleaner look. I also bought Amy a new hood. It should be here soon. It's being shipped from Cali.

I'm not sure why my camera is taking fuzzy pics. That's Amy sanding the funny looking siver off the rubber bumper..
