Aryan's 73 Mustang

Post by RebStew on July 18th 2010, 3:47 pm

Even at 9 years old Aryan has been through 3 cars. Hopefully 3rd times a charm. Each time he has traded up so to me he's doing good. He is nuts over Mustangs and will point out every Mustang you pass while you are out driving. I have no idea where he got this Ford gene, Surely not from me but he likes them. His 59 was cool but I think from the lack of work getting done he wanted something else. The guy drove down from Cleveland Ohio and traded Aryan even. With the old engine the Stang ran the best of 11.80 at 117.46 mph. a more mild engine was put in but he never ran it so no times as of yet on the new combo. The rearend will need to be changed to get it through the 1/4 mile They was running 1/8 mile with 514 gears. affraid

This is a drag car. It does have a good title so it will be driven on the street with some work to make it legal again.
This is the stuff the guy told me about it. ( No rust on spring towers, new coils, shock trunions and 90/10 shocks, frame rails, torque boxes and rear frames are good. rear springs have poly bushings, also front disc brakes. 302 engine a lot of engine work, j&e pistons, balanced, lots of head work with s/s valves screw in studs, guide plates, roller rockers and alum hi rise side winder intake, holley d/p. flow tech headers. 4 core rad with dual fans and electric water pump drive. the car still has dash and lights so it could be rewired back to street use. Built c4 trans, 9 inch with 514 gears, m/t slicks, moroso fronts on centerlines. the frames are tied, ladder bars, roll bar, and full gauge package, fuel cell and dual batteries. car is turn key ready to race)

I don't think I have ever seen Aryan this happy. When the guy called to say he was close to the house Aryan was up, dressed and ready to check out the car. I think the guy was blown away for me to leave it up to Arayn if he wanted to trade. lol. Aryan was so happy to get the car he was about ready to bust.

Sitting in the car he was so overwelmed it looked like he was going to cry. He's a very happy kid today.

Yeah. Corey had a couple 3" welded chambered mufflers he told Aryan he could have. Not sure what they are. They look like Flows but they are not. Not sure what they will sound like but hoping it will make it less of a window shaker when you start it. I think I have a set of 3" collectors. If I can find them we may put the muffler on it tonight around 6:30 or 7 when it cools down.
