John did a great job getting a gloss out of wet paint. We called it a night and got some sleep for the show. We got set up and stuck Corey's truck in with our cars. He had a sign made up for the front and a scrap book on the core support for poeple to look at.

The truck was only sitting for a few hours but ever time I went by someone was checking out the scap book. Hopefully maybe some dad or kid will pick up on what we are in the middle of and start a father and son project like we did. It's a great bonding between father and son when you spray primer in your face or have to catch 15 minutes of sleep on cardboard on the garage floor because you are pulling all nighters. Very Happy

Brandon showed up and I ask if he wanted to work or take a walk first. He said he was ready to work so Johnny went and grabbed the truck for us and pulled it in. I told Brandon about trying to get the door done for the show so he could get it lettered. He pushed his fingers into the door and grinned and said it's still tacky. [url=http://www.smil without skipping a beat he worked around the tacky paint to make a slick door sign.

Ryan and his son hung out and watch as Brandon started laying it out.

Brandon did a killer job on the doors and I can't be happier with the turnout.

The truck has been on hold for a while for a few reasons. As some of you know I'm having trouble with the paint. It doesn't want to dry right. This is the same paint I have always used, the only thing different is the fisheye remover I used. I've never used it before. I can't see how a few drops of it would let the paint do what it's doing but it is. It took so long for the paint to dry that it is leaving a ripple over the topcoat. A few said to clearcoat it and be done with it but in my eyes if the paint is not curing on the bottom and it dries on top, as the clear would then it will mess up the finish when the bottom dries. That's how you get orange peel. Even dry when you try to buff it the buffer gets it hot and it mars the paint(not a burn through) I've seen this look on paint jobs before but never knew what it was from but unlike orange peel with round raised spots this is a seperation of the color with wrinkles.
Coreys football games also slowed us down. We will start sanding on the truck to get to the primer and strip this $$$$ red paint back off and reshoot it hopefully before the weather turns too cold.

Sad Sorry to hear about the paint. That really sucks! The time that has already gone into it, and now you will have to do it all over. Hope you can get it before cold weather. I presume you aren't going to go with the same paint? That also means that you are going to lose the beautiful sign huh?

Fish eye remover does some weird things to paint. I know at my old job we tried to use it as little as possible because it made it a royal pain in the butt to use. elephant Hope fully the second time will be better.
“That journey to Rouen was a terrible embarrassment to Jesse and me, for on the long straights across France, that great bulbous Oldsmobile coupe with the trailer and racing car on the back sat behind us no matter what we did. We both rowed our little Porsches along as hard as we could, and the Miller entourage just sat there in our mirrors. When we stopped, Ak removed his cigar and asked, ‘Your little cars okay?’”
