project cheapshot 33 dodge

Post by skull on January 4th 2010, 5:48 am

the dodge is going to a fun project.
shorting the body 10'' to 12'' and make a 4dr into a 2dr sedan.
the power is a 383 small block chevy with a stout 400hp and about 350fpt.
IFS mustang ll rack and pinion steering, 700R4 and a 9'' ford rear-end with 3:25 gears. 4 link and a pan hard bar for the rear suspension with QA1 coil over shocks. no fenders and a hood with no sides. 1932 ford grill shell with a stianless steel insert. plexi-glass rear 1/4'' windows in
the back and real safety glass in the front doors and a lamanted/tinted windshield.
V D 0 guages and a custom made dash.
the chassis is a custom built 2X4 square tube and re-enforced by my friend tony.
3 core aluminum up & down flow raditor and a electric fan.

post more as l get more done.

helps fuel milage. don't you know, the lighter the car, the gas milage goes up.

went and pulled a bunch of the wood out today. will replace it with square tubeing. took all the nuts, bolts and rivets 0ff the firewall to help smooth it off and look better.

posted pics of the frame in my gallery.
yup. l had tony my welding guy put in 3 more braces to hande the torque and 400 hp of this motor. will be cutting about 10'' out of the back doors to achieve that two door sedan look

my truck has a 400 hp 396 in it and weighs 4000 lbs, the 33 sedan should be about 2800 lbs,,,,,,,should be a fun ride.

for the tranny the 700r4 should be ok and with a set of 3:25's it should do fairly decent on milage and a buttkickin' machine.

cut the body to day, took out only 7'' because the chassis l am using was built for a differant kind of car. to get the body to fit correctly, that was all we could safely take out . will finish welding up the body tomarrow or the next day. soon after the welding on the main body is done, we will fill in where the doors were. :new pics in gallery
