Rear rims cleaned and primed ,rear tires mounted, mounted.Rear Kick up, removed, rebuilt ,cut up , re-did, rewelded , re mounted again...Look's better..(Rear kick up I had originally was going to be about 16/18 inches' redesigned it now more like 10" better all the way around, other than that same old ile of junk taking up space).. I should just sell all this no good junk I own and take up golf......

If you don't like my dinged and dented hot rod sitting next to yours, put yours back on it's trailer and leave!

Windshield Bracket Tech

Post by LRS30 on May 30th 2008, 7:29 pm

Come up with a design you like, trace it our on paper, thin cardboard

Trace it to your steel, I'm using 1 x 2 1/2 rec. tubing.

Whittle it out, using what ever you have bandsaw, cut off wheel, plasma cutter.. I used a 4" electric grinder and dressed it out with my belt sander.

Create a template for the foot of the bracket, set your angle, mine is set at 80 degree's., I also drew a bunch of circles on them triying to come up with a speed hole design I liked..Once i found a design i broke out the dial caliper's and measured, marked and started drilling....

More holes more measuring, but its done..

One more hole to drill on the passenger side, and a shot of the spring channel...anything to do, to make it lower I guess...

Oh I'm working on it everyday, its just stuff not really noticable, stuff or anything worth mentioning...Stuff you will never see, but I have more time than money.. I should have my front wheel's but next week, then I need to get my brake kit for the front axle then we will be a rolling chassis.....

Thank's.. My family think's I'm nuts, "you spend how many hours measuring and cutting, then you went and drilled a bunch of holes in them"....I hope to get back out there today and get the center one finished....Thank's for the kind word's....Ryan
