Your cars and what they need....
I was thinking that we could try a wrench session on some club members cars I know there are a lot of guy's that could use a hand getting there cars together, running better, general maintenace, body work, anything for that matter. It could be a weekday night or a Sat. of Sunday what ever works. I know that Steve could use a hand here and there, Mr. Riggs needs a hand, I for one could always use an extra hand, Ferrell's project needs a push to get back on track as well. It's just a thought, I'm curious to see what others think, these are the guys I know are in the process of getting there cars ready, I'm sure there are others in need as well maybe members can post a project wanted list, like my self I plan on rebuilding my front end soon and could use a hand. I know with the holidays fast approaching that it will be tough for some, but it will all be over in a month..So enough babble lets see what guys need help with and lets try and help each other out what do you think????Just an Idea, thanks, Ryan

Re: Your cars and what they need....
I'd like to see how many we could get together for a cruise to the Cavalcade this year since its in March this year we would have some time to get the wheels rolling. I did this last year and had a blast we all parked together and had our own mini show outside was cold as hell but funn none the less, just to here people talking about the fools that drove there cars down in the rain and was great.
Re: Your cars and what they need....
man steve and i was just talking about this. i said that we should get a committee (that the right term) together to see who wants to help with what.
yeah i could use a hand mocking up the motor. then i gotta pull the motor back out and finish the shift kit in it. then we gotta get the rear end stewart gave me. scored a very nice booster and master cylinder and brake combo from steve last night. so that needs to be hanged.
the weekend is the best for me unless its something local, i work till 6 come home eat then spend some time with the wife and kids. she starts night shift soon. every other weekend i have my boy hes a good tool fetcher.
but yes we do need certain nights. steve mentioned get together on a saturday work on ones, then the next saturday work on the others.

Re: Your cars and what they need....
it's funny you posted this. Riggs and I was hanging out in my garage last night and was talking about this. this is what we use to do but somehow got off track. the holidays are really crazy for me but after X~mas I'm free. I can still do some work sessions but it touch and go till after Christmas. if we could come up with a day that most of us are free then we could make it happen. almost everone is working through teh week so late Friday or the weekend may be better. we can take turns going to each others garages to work on whatever. do the gasser one week then hit Riggs, mine, ryans car, ferrels, and anyone else. Doug and Jeff both have something to work on. Jeff is doing rearend swaps and we could start on Dougs wagon in this garage. I'm game to go to Dayton from time to time also. this sound like a good idea. what do the rest of you guys think?

Re: Your cars and what they need....
I got a lot of stuff to do on my cars but with out a garage it makes it hard to work in the winter. But I'm usally free to wrench on the weekends
Re: Your cars and what they need....
I need to tear about my 66 f250 to put in the 460 and upgrade to power disc brakes and steering butits going to wait untill spring as I will be working on it outside behind the garage so I wont tie up the garage.
Re: Your cars and what they need....
So has anybody given much thought to this??? Maybe a lottery of sorts, put everybodies name in a hat and pull one out and go from there that way nobody is cheated, or feels left out. We can Start small and work are way up to bigger jobs.

I have talked to a few guys about this. seems like a good idea just everyone wants to get the holidays out of the way first. I'm sure we can make this happen. it's a good idea. I'm game to start where ever. if someone wants to set a date work session just let us know when. Riggs? anyone?LRS30 wrote:So has anybody given much thought to this??? Re: Your cars and what they need....
heres a question i asked stewart. just a few minutes ago.
lets say we all get together on a weekend. cause mostly everyone works during the week. lets say saturday for an example. we get together. start at 10:00am or 11:00 just an example how long in the day is everyone willing to work. if we work lets say 6hrs in that day. we can tackle two projects in that day. say one saturday we work in burlington tackle ferrels and ryan. the next weekend or the weekend after we tackle stewarts truck and my 47.
thats a mouth full.
so a break down of questions
1. day that everyone is free to work
2. how long in that one day your willing to work
3. good idea to split the day in half.
4. good idea to work on two seperate projects within one day.

Re: Your cars and what they need....
I'm game for any work. I think we need to include the gasser in our weekly work sessions and work our way around each other garages. that way no one gets burned out. one day a week for work and we should be able to get a lot done by spring.
