NO 7123
“That journey to Rouen was a terrible embarrassment to Jesse and me, for on the long straights across France, that great bulbous Oldsmobile coupe with the trailer and racing car on the back sat behind us no matter what we did. We both rowed our little Porsches along as hard as we could, and the Miller entourage just sat there in our mirrors. When we stopped, Ak removed his cigar and asked, ‘Your little cars okay?’”

I can't believe the Highway Patrol will stand for this. I really don't see the big deal anyway. If you don't want to run a front plate, don't! My brother went without one for years. Most vehicles are designed with the front mounts or slots in the bumper or something. Some look really weird w/o a plate in the mount. I don't think they really care about the old hot rods unless your doing something you shouldn't be in the first place. Besides, they'll charge the same for olny one plate and you'll be getting less for your money.

Re: For you Ohio guys
Someone said that the PD won't let off the preasure of having a front plate because of veiwing it if you are speeding or doing something wrong while coming at the cop in the oncoming lane. I would bet money that no cop has ever read the front plate from a car coming at them at speed. Why would they even try? If they pull from behind and catch up they will read the tag to dispatch while holding their mic. I don't think 90% could even see what the plate says on an oncoming speeding car. Think about it. If you are clocking someone with a radar do you have time to see what the speed is? drop the car in gear? watch for oncoming traffic so you don't wreck? run the cop car hard to catch up, all while grabbing the mic to tell dispatch what the tag number is because you remembered the tag number from the front tag while it went by you in traffic at 75mph while you had one eye looking at the radar gun.
I had a girlfriend years ago that was a buckeye and I remember her getting a ticket for no front tag. I thought then what a stupid law.

I think they might need the front tag for some of the photography they do now. There's a speed camera close to the house that registers the speed as your coming at it.

it may work for that. I just never liked a front tag. half the cars I've owned(sports cars) didn't have a spot for a tag. I would have never drilled holes in my rubber bumpers for a tag. T/A's, Fieros, ect
I'm sure glad I'm in the Blue Grass State, God Country!! lol

Re: For you Ohio guys
I walked out of a gas station in Hilliard OH last year to a cop sitting in his car in front of mine. He motioned me over and asked where my front plate was. I looked at him like he was stupid and told him that we weren't required to have them. He started to argue with me and then asked where I was from. When I said Kentucky, he dropped the car in gear and took off. Dumbass. He should have known I was from Kentucky when I opened my mouth. I speak English the way God intended, with a drawl.

Years ago when I had my 79 T/A I was pulled over for speeding on 275 by a State Trooper, during the stop he warned me about the front plate missing....he let me go with a warning on both, but told me next time he saw me without the front plate he would cite me. I thought, what are the chances?.....a few months later he stopped me on SR32 in Ohio and gave me a ticket for the missing plate.
I refuse to put one on my Monte Carlo as well....I have had the car since 2003 and have never been questioned about it....and have been stopped a few times....I do not think they care as much about it anymore....or I think they take the type of car into consideration.
