47 Chevy Fleetline

Post by JRiggs on October 9th 2007, 5:00 am

So Junkyard Junky and myself did a little traded. He got the 66 ford f100, the extra 352 i pulled outta the galaxy.

And heres what I got:
1948 Chevy Fleetline 4 door NOW I FIT IN THE CLUB MORE
By the looks of the car it didnt see much life on the road.
The only hole in the floorboard of the car is in the trunk pan.
Also part of the trade a 58 chev 235. came from the tingler of the hamb. suppose to run and everything has brackets for later model alt.
Started pulling the old motor and tranny out, its just sitting in there ready to be pulled. Man those seats was funkee' pulled the back ones i was going to keep the springs and tear the cushion and material off but i could not take the smell any longer.
And i also got the supreme wheels and tires that was on here for sale. Lady Rebel is trying to con me out of them. I offered her a trade but she hasnt KISSED UP to it yet.

will had more pics soon. ill try to make them small

I thought this thread was about project cars not love obsession.

k, back on topic,
need to borrow reb's engine hoist. then pull the motor the rest of the way out.
im undecided if i should throw down some primer before i put the motor back in. what do you guys think. it sure would look goofy with a nice cleanly painted motor and the rest of the fire wall all rusty.

should i paint it or leave it alone. Question

Paint it! If your planning on painting it later, it would be a real chore with the motor all installed. Besides even if you paint it and you want the rusty look, just don't open the hood. Jeff and I didn't have the time to paint and clean the engine compartment when we put the motor in my wagon and I've regretted it since then whenever I open the hood. Not saying that it would stay nice with the miles I put on that old pig, but at least it would have been nice once. If you don't do it now, chances are you won't. My $.02

Its a No brainer! MAn paint that baby even if your going for a "PATINA" look on the outside I love it when under the hood area is sanitary looking plus it makes for a much easier job when you, if you decide to finish the outside. If you bust ass you can have under the hood done in a weekend and you will thank yourself in the long run...LONG LIVE THE FLEETLINE!
