Cavalcade of Customs 2008

Post by John B on October 25th 2007, 2:52 am

I thought I'd pull up the autorama website and see if they had the schedule up yet. They did but when I looked at Jan. there was no listing for Cincinnati. WTF ? ? ?

I looked on down the list and there it is.

MARCH 14-16, 2008

As long as I can remember ( which with my mind isn't that long ) the Cavalcade has always been in January. Wonder why the change?

That's what they did with the Detroit Autorama a few years ago. Used to go up there every year and it was always the first weekend after New Years. They changed to the end of Feb or the first of March. It's probably a little far for you guys but Detroit always used to be a good time, lots of really cool cars from all over the country and of course the Riddler Award is given out there. It used to be really cold up there parking along the river the first part of January!

I've been to the Detroit Autorama, it is a great show. One of the guys from a club Denise was in, got us passes and we were in there during set up. Heck, we were in there every night for like five straight nights. That was the year that the red 49 Chevy called M-80 won the Ridler. I made my prediction and Denise told me that they would never pick that car because it wasn't a street rod. We actually argued about it even after we went back to her house that night.

I had a good time there otherwise. Got to hang out with Johnny D as well as some other guys I already knew. Lots to see, lots to learn at that show.

I noticed on the Autorama site, that they don't have a page built for Detroit yet.

I guess we can meet here at my house and drive one car over. how about Saturday at noon? anyone else coming? if you go to Kentucky Motors you can get cheaper tickets than you can at the door.
let me know if you are planning on coming so we don't run off and leave you. we may stop at Dixie Chili on the way back.

I have to see how my finances hold out this week. Do they have discount tickets at KOI? I'm running out of nerve driving with three brakes.

Amy has an award dinner to go to and I'll have the kids but I may be able to go if I go early. I just found out about this a couple of days ago and have been trying to figure out what to do.
