Don't make a special trip to have them popped off, I was just curious, I am a week or to away from needing it. Not trying to be a pest about it.. Ryan

No biggie man. I should have had it off by now. Old man winter jump in and I really haven't been in the garage. I'll get it off today if something crazy doesn't come up.LRS30 wrote:Don't make a special trip to have them popped off, I was just curious, I am a week or to away from needing it. Re: Bread & Butter 27 Ford Project
27 is resting with Junk piled all around it. Untill I get another garage or throw everything away so I can get to it, it will just sit and collect dust.

Re: Bread & Butter 27 Ford Project
It's been a while since I played with the 27. I have been working on the 'bird but the other night I was making too much noise someone thought and called the cops. They were cool about it but it ticked me off. Then Rosco next door to me with the tubbed Nova was shooting some spray can primer on his Nova and someone called the cops on him for painting his car. The cops pulled up and ask if he was painting his car. He held up the rattle can and the cop just shook his head. He told Rosco to just go ahead with what he was doing. So someone close is freaking out and making false calls. I guess we will see what happens. Next call I get on me I'll push the issue to have the number looked up so they can talk to them about reporting bogus calls.
So anyways that is why I have been keeping the noise down. No air compresser or banging so I'm stuck on what I can do for a while. Tonight I was bored so I figured the welder doesn't make that much noise.

Re: Bread & Butter 27 Ford Project
The 27's skin is just spot welded. I spent about 4 hours tonight welding up most of the skin on the driver side. Jumping around the body to keep the heat from warping everything like crazy takes alot of time. I went through almost a small roll of wire doing it. I may shove it over some to get to the right side and work on it tomorrow. Just something to do untill we can get the cop caller figured out.RebStew wrote: It is spot welded on About every 2 inches. I will need to go over all the seams and weld them up tight but that's no biggie. A little time consuming because you have to jump around the body to keep the heat down. One spot will heat the metal up too much and cause it to warp.

That sucks about the neighbor... but cool that you've hit the 27 again. I really hope you are able to get this on the road next year.

Re: Bread & Butter 27 Ford Project
Haven't really hit it. Just playing for now. I have some parts for my Bird coming so I will be on that. Hoping to get most of what I want done to it before it gets too cold in the garage. I'll finish it up in the spring.

Re: Bread & Butter 27 Ford Project
More welding today
Corey didn't have any luck finding a job so I told him I'd pay him 7 bucks an hour to work in the garage. Last couple of days he's been doing pretty good. I'm hard to work for I will be the first one to say it. He's been doing all the crap work which leaves time for me to do the cool stuff. Corey started on the engine and then went over the entire car with 150 grit. Getting the oil off the metal was a pain. Then he wire wheeled the rest of the frame. He's also keeping the tools picked up and garage floor clean, which I love.
You are doing good bubby!
