Re: Desoto
Just saw Joe's post of the Track time. Looks like he posted before mine. I'll look to see if there is another date.

Re: Desoto
Getting some work done. I took the manifolds off and took a little metal off around the outside bolt holes. They were just barley hitting the frame. With the metal gone it fits between perfect now.
I also got the transmission under the car and bolted up to the motor.
Pics to come.

Re: Desoto
Got the manifolds how I wanted. Pretty amazing how little metal you have to take off to make a big difference.
It's hard to tell, but that is next to the frame. Before it sat on top of the frame.

I got the transmission bolted up!

Now there is plenty of room for the radiator in the stock position!

I was tired of the teeth, splash pan, and bumper sitting in the shed. So I put them on.

All I need to do is get the angle iron cut to finish the motor mounts. Then get a trans support bar made. I check my drive shaft and it's longer than I need which is a good thing.
Then wiring and brakes and tires.
I hope to have it on the road this spring!

Keep up the good work! Nice to see things coming along on this and that was a good call to put the front end pieces back on.

Re: Desoto
Looking really good. Hows the welder doing? Does it seem strong enough?

Re: Desoto
I'll be honest. They seem strong, but I would like for someone to look at them. I didn't feel like I was getting much penetration into the frame. I've welded a few things before this where I could tell both pieces took the weld. It's a bit harder to tell with where this is located.
