I really have my doubts on having car drivable for that distance by then, plus I just did my taxes and the Federal and City ate me up. I originally wanted to go up Friday nite after work and spend the night since it's included. I thought it'd be fun to get some guys, a few tents, and some fire wood but..........

I'll be taking the 57 up and Vickers is driving the 51. Johnny says he's going but I don't know if he's driving or riding shotgun. Anyone going??

Man, I haven't even followed whos been high on the speed charts this year. I went over from about 52 till just after the Indy Racing League was formed. I got a whole bunch of memories from that place......good and bad. If my wife could walk better and I had some $$ I'd meet ya in Grandstand B.

I really don't have a car I'd feel safe in for a run to Mount Vernon. I'd don't want to break more crapand go even farther in the hole. I'd love to go up Friday nite and see the happenings. I got a feeling that's probably the best part of the weekend.

We are making a straight B line to the track from Ky. If you can meet us where ever we are coming through, you can grab a ride with one of us.

I don't know what your "Straight B Line" is, and I can't take the good car and park it someplace for the day and leave my wife stranded at home w/o a car.

Are you meeting up with Jeff?

How early are you leaving? It'd probably take close to 2 hours from the Dayton area.

I haven't heard if Jeff was going or not. Won't he let you hitch a ride since you live so close? We are going up 71. So 35 and 71 may be the best bet to hook up. Jeff you going?? If not Doug do you want to meet at Rt35? We will be leaving here about 8:30 so how ever long it takes to get to 35 from here.

Man, if I had the dough I'd be there in a heartbeat (and I don't mean a Chevy). I just love going to the speedway. It brings back such memories. It's probably the last place that my Dad, my Brother and myself all went together. My brother and his first wife went there with me and my wife the day after he got married. It's the first place I really saw Girls Gone Wild as a youngster in the first turn Snake Pit. It was the first place I experienced riot gas. It's the first place (and maybe the olny place) where I was alone in a crowd of almost half a million people as a youngster. If I had my jury duty money I think I'd go over and sleep on Georgetown Raod lke the old days and be one of the first fools in at sun up. Hopefully Uncle Sam will be a little lighter on me next year and I won't have the Mid-April shock I had this year. LRS30, maybe we can meet up next spring in either Grandstand B or K, have some fried chicken (you have to have that), and play like AJ still rules the place.

Like I said I have only missed 1 year in 22,so a good chance I will be there.. Its still fun, but not like it used to be, there is no "SNAKE PIT", inside turn one is a road corse turn now. "FAGS"! We always camped across the street from the 500 Motel at the strip mall by the twin OAK trees.. I also have a fond place in my memory banks for that place..Although for the last 3 years it has been a family affair instead of me and a truck/car/stationwagon/motorcycle full of my beer buddies, plus when you take the family you don't need near as many singles as you do when you take your buddies....I wonder how many stripper car payments I have made over the years going there, before I was married of course.....I will keep you posted Doug...
