>Wanna be painter or teach old dogs some new tricks<

Post by RebStew on April 9th 2009, 4:58 pm

Chuck Bowman stopped me today to invite some of us to a finish education workshop. What it's about is the new stuff they are coming out with has a different way to spray it than the old paint we use to use. It is a work shop set up to let the vendor show off his new product line and to show us what and how to use it. I think this would be a great class for the ones wanting to learn to paint or for anyone that paints. I'm sure you have noticed how this new stuff works differently than the old. I will go if some of you guys want to go. It is at the KOI in Newport on Tuesday the 14th at 5:30. This is not a time to be shy. Chuck said that they are not trying to sell anything at all. It is just a FREE class to show some new stuff and to be able to ask questions if you want to. All the novice or guys that want to learn to shoot, buff or whatever should try to hit this. Who wants to go? We can't just show up I have to RSVP so we can get in. So let me know if you want to go. KOI is even springing for the pop and food. What do you have to loose?

Man, I'd love to go but I can't hardly work till about 6:00 and make there by 5:30. If you get some to go take notes so you can pass on the knowledge please.

I can only use the good car on Thursday and Friday. I don't feel real safe driving my POS quite that far. Maybe Jeff will come down and i can ride along. He's going to be painting here in probably about a month. He wants to paint his 66 Ford truck. Maybe Chad will trade me his truck! LOL

I had to park my white wagon in the drive way because the city has a law about cars setting on the street more than a couple of days. I can't complain since it sat on the side street since Thanksgiving. The wagon has a problem in the bellhousing of some sort. Anyway it's currently blocking the Merc in the garage. The Merc is suspension challenged in the rear. The air shocks need replaced. I know that's not much but money is really tight here with school bills and doctor bills, other wise I wouldn't be driving that Fairmont everyday plus the house has some repairs that must be done this weekend. $$$$

So is that 5 so far? I can let Chuck know tomorrow. Chuck is the son of the father and son Bowman Paints that use to be on Scott St. in Covington. Before they were bought out by KOI. It was the last Mom & Pop Paint Shop in the area. They had a small store but no one could match their service. Part of the deal with the buy out is that Chuck and his dad went to work for KOI. They both are still active with the paint dept. of KOI.
