Looks like it wasn't just the cars that sucked gas and breathed fire back then with some of these guys.

Re: Old Newport KY car club logo
Hey guys I was the President of the Clutch Jumpers in the 50's. We had a club house and gargae in Npt. in an alley N. of 10th near Isaabella. We also helped run Thonhill Drag Strip. Baldy McClaren, club member was announcer there and I helped out. Be glad to answer questions. I still have my light blue club jacket. Live in Boone County

Re: Old Newport KY car club logo
I am Cliff Wartman, who was Pres of the Jumpers. I can't believe I am seeing some of those photos again. I am at the desk in the photo taken at our car show at Npt. Shoppin Center. Yes that is also my Charger R/T and Mustnag. Others in the club who show up on pics are Ed Ferring, Bob Halderman. Yes that is Thornhill we used to help run it. Member Walter "Baldy" McClaren was announcer. You brought back many found memories. And yes we had a good relationship with the city and police.

In regards to the Hydroplanes I was part of the crew for the Moonshine Baby's E-54 & H-54. H-54 had a 427 Ford Engine. They were owned by Dal Kremer who owned Bellevue Motors in Bellevue who also did some fantastic paint jobs and where I learned pin striping. If it was fast I got involved......
