Steve\''s \''51 Vicky
Hello guys and gals. This is Ted, (Steve's dad) to give you a bit of history on "Bad Inc.". That is what I used to call the '51, back in the day. Don't know why, I just did. I was a kid once too. So it didn't have to make sense. Looks like Steve and Kenny, have been very very busy today. The '51 was buried in the back of his garage, for sure. Anyway, about a little history. I bought the '51 way back in the year of 1959, after I demolished my 1st. car, a '55 Chevy Bel-air, two door sedan. I hated the '55 Chevy and loved that '51 Ford. I seemed to walk more than I rode, (always breaking down) but I still loved that Ford. First year you know, that Ford made the 2 door hardtop. I thought that was a fine looking ride and still do. Steve has got it looking real good, in my opinion. I drove it quite awhile I guess, (if it could only talk) til a drunk creamed it in the rear at xx miles an hour. Drove the back bumper clear up even with the back seat. As they say now-a-days, BUMMER. Long story short. I took the deck lid off, layed it on the said ground, took said sledge hammer in hand and commenced to way-lay that deck lid, til it had once again the similarity of a deck lid. I took Dad's 1952 Ford farm tractor, hooked a log chain between it and "Bad Inc." (very bad, at this point) and commenced to pull, til the rear bumper was somewhat in the area that it should be. Very long story again, short. The '51 got parked in the field, behind Dad's barn. I bought a '54 Mercury, a '55 Chevy Bel-air, two door hardtop, then the '58 Chevy ragtop, known as "Blue Ice", that if you have been following along, you already know about. Fast forward. I give the '51 Ford to Steve and he has done to it, as you see the pics on this site today. I'm proud of how he has made it look once again. When he gets the Flat Head motor in it and drives it, it will indeed be "Bad Inc.", once again. Hope you have enjoyed this little bit of history.

Re: Steve Blades' 51' Vicky
I want to publicly thank you dad for putting up with me for 40 years (Man, 40 YEARS!) and for giving me the love of the car hobby. We have had alot of fun and good times over the years and some not so good, but you have always been there with an open hand. The last few months of working with you on Blue Ice and just hanging around with you has meant alot to me. Thanks again dad!

That '51 would look even better with my name on the title. That thing is sweet!

Re: Steve Blades' 51' Vicky
Very cool story for sure.....I tried to purchase a 66 Chevy II that my dad had when i was a kid....there were alot of good memories like helping change the engine and him letting me drive it when i was like 12 years old
...he didnt seem to care about me not being old enough to drive because he was more proud that i could drive a stick shift ....good times.....anyway about 15 years later i had it purchased from a guy that had it but he backed out of the deal when i went to pick it up  Jim Holland for you guys that know him...

I remember that car well. It was an often seen ride at the street races back then. Jimmy is getting couped back up in the pen. He has to turn himself in a few weeks for a 19 month stay. The guy won't learn..
