John right now I think we have everything to get her going other than a windshield. We just need to get some free time to put her together.

I got the mallory unilite out of the 460 going in the 66 and I found a correct adapter to get rid of the spreadbore carb used on the 460s,it does not have the same bolt pattern as a QJ or thermoquad and those cheap adapters kind of make them run like crap. My 77 F150 with a 460 had the spreadbore originally and someone adapted a QJ to it and with the adapter plus the original spacer it was a dog,I used that adapter to mount the holley I got off Tim and it runs alot better but the adapter is ordered and should be here late next week. The adapter was 58 dollars plus some change and I got it from summit and the part number is TRD-2199,its not like the cheap adapter that is open around all four parts as this one is made with all four ports. Anyone want to work on the gasser Friday or Saturday night? It's getting cool enough that we don't have to have a heat stroke. 12th or 13th? We could get the rearend sanded down, painted and put together if nothing else.

Re: Scroungers C.C. 1964 Falcon Drag Car

Post by Admin on October 24th 2008, 6:41 am

Anyone want to ride up this week sometime to get the windshield?
Nov, 8th will be the next work session Saturday starting at 1pm. Anyone who wants to get their hands dirty let me hear from ya. I'd like to get the rearend set up in it and rolling on it's slicks.
We need to take a grinder with a wire wheel to the housing while someone else is cleaning the pig and axels. Paint it, stick it together all while someone else is ripping out the old rearend. Very Happy

we tried that but everyone has to work the next day so we couldn't get anyone to do anything. we will try this and see how it works out. If anyone wants to stop over before than and get the rearend we could set it up in my garage behind the house.
Is anyone willing to buy the gasket? Anyone else wanting to spring for the gear oil?
