I would love to own one of these and make it look like it did back in the day. Would make a great club hang out.

Most of these are vintage gas stations before my day and some when I was a teenager or they used to be called filling stations back in my day. A few other pics that I thought were interesting.

The one below is a Fire station gas pump

I'm showing my age, but I remember filling up my tank when I was 16 yrs old with the price posted on the sign below. I thought it to be hilarious that they advertised a restroom on a sign as well. Back then, it was a big deal to have a public restroom for there patrons. Usually Women didn't fill the cars up with gasoline and they only had one restroom.

I thought this to be interesting, 2 story restroom. Probably more of a conversation piece than anything.

A tree growing out the top of a church. I'm still trying to figure out if that was possible or it is the largest tree I've seen in a good long while.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe that this is located at the Maker's Mark Distillery.

Nah, It's just a early multi-level open air parking garage.

I wonder what the little sign says on the gaurd rail?

Lot Full?

I like the pic where the sign says gas wars.

I was telling the kids that when I first started driving that when you got gas you could get leaded, which was regular or you could get unleaded. Now all you can buy is unleaded. When I put gas in a car I still think about regular being leaded fuel back then.

Regular(leaded gas) was cheaper than unleaded. I remember people knocking out or prying open the filler on the mid 70's car so they could put regular(Leaded) in the tank. If you remember the nozzle was bigger on the regular so you couldn't get it into the gas tank filler. Then they came out with the little yellow adaptors. One end was skinny so you could stick it in your tank and leave it in the filler neck. The other end was big enough that the nozzle would fit in on the regular(leaded) gas pump.

Saturday night, piece of junk car ,few friends with pocket change for enough gas to cruise around and try to pick up chicks. We sure thought we were something. geek

WE WERE! cheers

WHEN WE RAN AROUND ALLTHE GAS WAS LEADED, THE REGULAR AND THE PREMIUM. THEN THEY ADDED THE THIRD PUMP FOR THE UNLEADED FOR AWHILE. AT LEAST THAT'S THE WAY IT WAS AT THE STATION I WORKED AT WHEN I GOT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL. WE USED TO TAKE ALL DRIPPINGS FROM THE EMPTY OIL CANS AND DRAIN THEM INTO A COMMON QUART JAR, THEN SELL IT TO KIDS FOR THIER CLUNKERS SO WE COULD BUY POP. THERE WOULD BE NON-DETERGENT AND DETERGENT OIL OF ALL WEIGHTS MIXED TOGETHER. I THINK WE USED TO SELL IT FOR ABOUT A QUARTER A QUART. THAT WAS A LITTLE LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE OF THE EXPENSIVE OIL. IT KEPT EVERYBODY HAPPY.

I saw this place in Dickson, TN today.
He runs a tire shop out of the service bays and a taxidermy shop out of the office.
