The trip down there was worth it to me just to see this car run. I know he made three rounds because he was still in when we left Sunday. A good portion of the stands always come to their feet when the Granny Goose comes to the line.

More pictures later. Trying to sift through the over 800 pictures we took down there.

We saw Junkyard Junky, Dave and Stretch, Dennis' friends Dave and Roger, Ryan, Bill (from back home), and Brandon while we were down there. Made a few new friends from all over and had a wonderful time. It sure was a hot 5 or 6 hours in that old black Mercury going to and fro. There were plenty of clubs all camping together which is what I thought might happen but................more communication next year.

One of our neighbors at the campground in their bone stock Anglia

Dennis's friend Dave (never saw Dennis)

We camped accross from Dave and Stretch

A few more of the campground dewellers. The place was packed with hot rods of all types.....

One of my favorites. The Mustang was chopped and sectioned

The BSM were there in force...............

We spent most of our time doing the races. I know a lot of the people go for the show and shine but the only show cars we saw were Friday nite at the Hotel and what cars we passed going from our parking spot to the race track. Of course our parking spot was usually clear in the back since one of our group didn't get moving real early. She slept a little late each morning but....................

One of the neat things about Beech Bend is that you can get so close to the cars, but one of the drawbacks is all the goons in the road when you want to take a picture...........

This thing might have been cool but never made a full pass. Sort of a waste of time IMO

Here's a couple of mugs having fun in the heat of the day. I think if ya have any interest in the history of Drag Racing, you should attend this at least once. Be careful though because you may want to go again..............and again............and again
