1951 mercury

Post by junkyard junky on July 21st 2009, 1:28 pm

Everyone knows that you need atleast 2-3 projects going at one time. Very Happy .Pulled the merc in the barn and started working on it. Someone had torched all the hinges but the previous owner had bought more. Right now I'm trying to get the hinges off the doors and the car.

That thing is COOL! It sure has potential. Take 3" out of the roof, Packard tail lights, Desoto grille and Cad hub caps. Everybody's got to have a Mercury. Just ask the Dog.

Someone did it before I got the car.

I'll have to reposition the seat when I get done.

Just got back. Got some progress on the merc. 4 inches vertical in the front and five in the back. On the A pillar, the slanted distance was 5 and 1/8 inches.

I will probably run the flathead for a while if it runs good and doesn't have any problems. I've got a couple of olds motors setting around. I have a 371 that is complete. Just need to find some dress up parts for it.

I'll be in bg for good guys. Don't know about the other.
