Hunnert Car Pileup

Post by Mr. Fabulous on August 17th 2009, 2:39 am

DaInjun mentioned going to the Pileup while we were at Edgewater last weekend. That'd be something different to do. Thought maybe that might be more fun than the Pumpkin Run. It would be a whirlwind of a day leaving early Saturday morning and probably coming back early Sunday morning. It's Saturday October 10, 2009. It might be fun to get a two or three carloads of people to go. I know a handful of people from Muncie that go every year. They said it's a really good time just a little chilly. If you left this area at 6:00ish, you'd probably be there about 11:00ish. It's way too late to get a room there but might be feasible to get a little closer FRiday nite and have a shorter drive on Saturday. Be fun to go in the Merc since they shot a lot of fire but I just don't have the suspension to carry people, cooler, gas, etc........

We leave on Friday morning if anyone is interested in following us up. It's a good drive and we take it easy (back roads, lots of stops, etc.) Usually a little chilly, but last year it was 80+ degrees. Unpredictable yes, but ALWAYS a good time...

Ahhhh...the backroads...I love em' I just went to Cumberland MD. and only took about 1 1/4 miles of Interstate...and only because Route 40 is buried underneath the interstate....in fact it the road from the east literally dead ends into the fill of I-70.

I would not mind following if I ed up going....but it will not be in anything traditional.

It appears that money is no object with Obama in charge. There will be a stimulus package for everything. I'll talk to you all about this Pileup Sunday looks like a cool show. Also who is the president of the Ohio chapter or is it mandatory to have two in the Scroungers?

Everyboby in Ohio is a President. Ya wanna be one?

The Hunnert Car Pileup should really be changed to the Two Thousand Car Pileup or something more representative of the attendence. It's grown quite a bit since it started.

Went to their site and there will be no camping or swap meet this year because of limited space. I guess it has really grown. As far as President, I'm not one to do that. The only way I became Secretary for our chapter is I was the 4th person to showup at the first meeting and no one gets thown inat election time. Go figure!!!!!

Yeah, I'm going to bum a ride with a few guys from Muncie. If it wasn't for everybody chipping in, I'd be home watching some $#@& NASCAR race.

Gas to and from Owensville 3 days was $75. I'm going to the BB next weekend and I'm done.

So are you on one of the oil companies Christmas card list? You must be close to gal/mile instead of miles/gal. Big carbs + Big gear = Big gas bill!

I drove from Dayton to Gas City and back and still had gas in the tank. Wanna buy a Mercury? LOL
