Weekend get away pics. Hot rods and drive ins..

Amy had a 3 day weekend so we ran off. Thanks Mrs. Riggs for feeding the dog!
We ran down to Richmond first and checked out some tattoo shops. The guy I was looking for was MIA so we headed back north and grabbed a hotel in Mt. Sterling, Ky. We found ourselves running around Mt Sterling. I have to say I didn't think anything about this town until I seen it for myself. It is filled with cars laying around and hot rodding is alive and well there. Here are a few pics of an old gas stations with some cars in it.

I was sneaking around a bit and found this hiding. It had one of the slickest black paint jobs I've ever seen.


The city had a few old signs that use to glow back in the day.

One of the coolest things, I know I'm easily amused was the fish pond at the chink place. The fish would eat the food from your fingers. Some were pretty big. Watching the kids freak out when a big one would swallow the finger was funny.

Anyone that knows me knows how much of a wood chuck I am. I really liked this table. I would have offered to buy it if I would have had a place to shove it in the car.

When we first got there we jumped in the pool and then I jumped into the spa.

The pool was a little too cold for me but the spa was nice. I was in it for about 15 minutes. Long enough for the over chemicaled water to burn me up. I told Amy that it was too strong. I'm now paying for it with chemical burns. I went to the gym for about 20 minutes and then up to the room to get a shower. It was too late. Later that night I was hurting! If I would have jumped back in the pool I may have been okay. This is what we found on the door and spa when we came back from eating. Guess someone else got it too.

Running around town later that night we ran into some really cool houses. I'm nuts over this stuff.




We also ran into a local cruise in in the old part of town.Sorry but we forgot the camera. There were a bunch of cars and it was really nice to see some different stuff. The cruise ins and shows have grown stale to me for the last few years. Same cars over and over. It was good to see some fresh iron.

We had a really good time looking in the shops and just running around. But you know that is not the only reason I run off like this.



Judy Drive In!
Cousin Chris from Carter County Cruisers owns this place and once a year puts on a car show with an old movie. What do ya think the movie was? Smokey and The Bandit!



I was greated with open arms and brother Bailey showed me the inner workings of the drive in. It was cool.

Some of these guys have become like family. It's nice to go places and just feel like you are at home.



This guy almost ran over Aryan while he was asleep on a sheet. I wasn't too happy but he didn't see him. All turned out okay.

With a movie like this you have to have the car.





I'm not sure what the kid was thinking on this TA. He went on and on about not having some parts he needed. Hood, frame mounts ect. I offered to give them to him just to help him out and it was like talking to a wall. I guess that was the youngness in him. Either way he was proud to show off his ride.

I'm not really into these but the roof and interior was killer on this Chevy.

We finished off or trip with the last few miles on old Rt 25. It was a good weekend and Amy and myself needed to get away from town for a few days. I had alot of fun.

I think I speak for the whole CCC crew when I say , we were glad you guys could come and spend the evening with us.
