A few that Bailey has owned.

Post by John B on November 27th 2007, 11:08 am

I was going through my photobucket account looking for a picture and thought I'd share a few pictures.

HIGH SCHOOL YEARS

My first real car 1976 Aspen R/T - got crunched between a Maverick and a 67 Chevelle

So I traded it for this 1973 Nova - only picture I got is from after I stupidly traded it off.

In the meantime I swapped for this. A 69-70 Mustang. Gutted interior, straight axle and a small block.

I traded the Mustang and Ford Fairmont for a 77 Trans AM that was a big POS which I couldn't get insurance on. Around that time I bought a 56 Chevy on a Grand Prix frame. It was a POS as well, but for $85 what more could you expect.

OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL

On my 18th Birthday a local guy came by and wanted the Trans AM, he had a 61 Chevy truck that I had been lusting after. So I traded the Trans AM and the 56 body to him. I was finally back in a running driving vehicle of my own.

Thats the 56 I traded in the background.

A year or so later the truck looked like this

In 1987 we ( the family) ended up with this 71 Mustang. Paid like 500 for it I think.

From there the tale just keeps going on and on.

Well, I finally got home and can see the pixs. Can't believe anybody in their right mind would trade a Mustang and a Fairmont for some GM stuff. I guess you have to look at the source.. lol!

How did that old Ford with the axle handle? and was it a 351 or a big block?

The Mustang handled like you'd expect a straight axle car with alot of rough usage to handle. It did run good though, which was no surprise. When you lifted the hood off , you found a small block Chevy lurking under there.

Man, I finally got to read this about that throw away motor in that Ford. That's a disgrace. Hopefully you bought it that way and didn't commit the sin of installing a Chevy into a Ford (LOL) That's why there's so many SBC's around, you just use'm and throw'm away. One of the best Chevys I ever drove was a 56 Sedan Delivery (with a 440 Chrysler in it). I gotta be true to the blue. lol!

Help me Jeff, you're the other Ford man! DD can't get on here to help out. jocolor
