Lil Coffin magazine info needed
I'm trying to find out what magazines the car "lil Coffin" was in. I mean old magazines. I thnk it was built in the 50's. Maybe some 60's mag coverage. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you want it from the very beginning? I have a Nov. 1960 Car Craft with the car in it ....though at that time it did not look like the most popular version. I also have it the Nov. 63 Rod & Custom, and a small article on it in a Fall 1963 International Champion Auto Show Souvenir Program.
These are the ones I could find easily in my collection.....the others are hard to get to right now.
So, what do you need to know?

Re: Lil Coffin magazine info needed
I was looking for the magazines that had the oqiginal car that was built by the orginal owner. I found an article online and they have the four magazines date which they used.
I wound up meeting dave stuckey down in oklahoma city when I had my merc chopped. The story goes that daryl is claiming to have built the lil coffin but dave stuckey built it. Stuckey use to work for daryl a long time again. Stuckey wound up losing the car in a divorce. Currently he is working on a couple of cars. I was wanting to buy a couple of magazines froim the early to mid sixties that had his car on the cover or did a feature.

Re: Lil Coffin magazine info needed
Definitely, it was Dave Stuckey. The 1960 issue of Car Craft has his car that looks nothing like the version most are familiar with. It was just as you said, he worked for Starbird at one time. The 1960 Car Craft it is on the cover with a side view shot...sectioned, not chopped, 32 sedan, the 63 R&C it is also on the cover, but by this time it looks like the version of the model kit. And the Fall Edition 1963 Souvenir Program states;
The "Lil Coffin" built for Larry Farber of Wichita by Stuckey Kustoms...............
.......then goes on to tell the specifics about the car
It finally goes on to mention that the car was purchased by Monogram Models who
plans on turning this car into kit form.
So, I'm thinking that by this time Dave Stuckey left Starbird and started his own shop. I know that there is a early 90's Rod & Custom mag that details the car throughout its history.....I have it somwhere....where? Who knows. I hope this helps somewhat. If not, I can dig through the other mags again. I know I have more magazines....but I literally have a couple 1000 or so. I just knew I had these few handy with the car on the car on the cover.

Do you have the 1960 or 63 magazines? I'm looking to buy those two.
