I thought my sister had hers. So when we went through the medal detector I was paniced. She didn't bring it so I there was nothing to worry about there. But yeah maybe next time she'll bring it.

Grandpa is going to be getting surgery as soon as the swelling goes down in his neck. They are talking about putting a rod in his neck. That doesn't sound good but we'll know more when someone gets to talk to the doctor. Thanks for the prayers.

He is a tough old bird. When I was there and they done his EKG I promised I wouldn't make fun of his chicken legs. My mom is visting him today. She'll give me some more info. Then I'll pass it on.

Grandpa's surgery is scheduled for saturday. Pray that God will guide the doctors hands and the surgery will be a sucess. So far he's been in good spirits and positive. Grandma is going to visit with him today. She's not been taking any of this too well. Thanks for the prayers and keep them coming. God is answering them.

He will be fine. He's tough as nails. The hard part will be slowing him down after he gets home.

Grandpa had surgery at 7:30 this morning. All went well. They went through the front of his throat and put a plate and 4 screws in. He'll be in ICU for tonight. He should be able to move is neck in 6-8 weeks. He heals fast and he can't wait to get back home. Thanks for the prayers and support!

He's doing good. They had to put a tube down his windpipe for him to breath because of the swelling but everything is looking good.

Re: Amy's Grandpa

Post by Lady rebel on September 6th 2010, 12:45 pm

These last 2 days have not been good. He pulled out his feeding tube. And is talking nonsense. He's not himself at all. Grandpa has a nurse with him 24hrs a day. Prayers are always needed. Today is Grandma's birthday. She went to visit with him for awhile. She is not doing well mentally at all. They have been together everyday for the past 45 years. It's been hard on both of them. To be continued...
