Corey Wrestling.

Video below is Corey(red & black) wrestling Junior Varsity when he was only in the 8th grade. He started when he was going to Campbell County and when we moved Newport gave wrestling a shot so he join them. He wrestled high school kids when he was in middle school. He was really good. I'm not sure why he gave up the last couple years. He came to me tonight and said he's going out for the team this year. It's hard to see because Corey is so mild mannered but he's pretty tough. Even starting out he kept on winning. I was very proud. First time he lost a match he walked up in the stands and had tears pouring out of his eyes. I let it go at first but he kept on. I told him to dry up but he couldn't. I started talking to him and told him he needed to stop. No one wins every time son. He looked at me and said I'm not crying! With big tears streaming down he says the kid jabbed his thumb into his eye socket. He got it together for the next match and what happens? He gets a figure stuck in his eye ball. Poor kid.

Aryan joined up this year. 9 years old. Bad thing about it is his weight class starts out at 70 pounds and he doesn't hit the weight class at only 65 pounds. He's been trying to eat but he is a ball of energy and burns everything up he eats. He has a few weeks to gain 5 pounds. Not sure if he will make it. If not it will break his heart.

I'm very excited about the boys wrestling this year.. I will do my best to keep my energy down... Corey took the last few years off. He was burnt out on it. I totally understand. He said he's ready! Corey was helping Aryan with some work outs last night. Aryan said his abs where hurting.. It was the funniest thing.. Good Luck Stewart Boys!!

I'm right there with you Aryan! I joined the Competition Team at my Taekwondo school. We started conditioning last Friday. I've been working out on my own. It's a good thing because I barley made it through. I'm not sure I would have made it through otherwise!

Let us know when their competitions are. If I'm able I'll come out and cheer them on!
