Old Drag Strip in Somerset.

Here's a few shots taken at Somerset Drag Strip that was located a few miles west of down town Somerset Kentucky on rt 80. These were taken in the summer of '65. Check out the home built dragsters. One with Chevy 409/425 4 speed and factory chrome dual snorkel air cleaner and the other looks like maybe a nailhead.

That drag strip still there?...we should go race down there one weekend

From what I have heard it closed in the late 60's or very early 70's.

I'm not sure if Ryan is refering to one in Somerset I don't know about or the one in London. The old race track was on Rt 80. When the Somernites cruise did an early morning run before the show they went to London Dragstrip. If there was one in Somerset looks like they would have to that. Below is a link to London's track.
