cruise to edgewater

All copied from another site

Ok all. I dont post on here much, but would like to see if there is any interest in something. I am an active member at www.buckeyegoats.com. there is a young Marine over there with a GTO looking to get a few people together before his deployment to Afghanistan. Here is a copy of his post.

I'm coming back home before my deployment to afghan and I would like to get a cruise together for April 1st. Plans are to meet up somewhere around the Newport area for some food around 400pm or even a little meet up. Then cruise to the track around 545ish for some good clean fun, racing or spectating. Entry fee is 15 for driver and 10 for spectator. Let me know if anyone is interested in goin. I wouldn't mind getting to know some of the club before I pump out for deployment.

I really dont know him. Just thought it would be kind of cool if I (we) could surprise him with a bunch of support for his service. My idea would be to have a few guys meet him and then without letting him know cruise to a nearby spot and have a shitload of people there to show him some support for his service. Anybody interested? If so I will keep updates posted here. Take care.

We have a meeting spot. IMHO, the best would be meeting at Newport Shopping Center by Bob Evans , which is right off I-471 & has plenty of room for a gathering, food & easy access for a cruise to Edgewater. We will meet at 4pm. Lets show this Jarhead how much we appreciate what he does for us. Thanks for the support guys.

anyone up for this ? this friday ...

Well crap. I thought I had more time than that. I don't have the street tires on the Stang yet. Looks like I'm out of this one..

He must have hung out in the parking lot for a while. It wasn't too long after you walked inside that he showed up. I was getting ready to drive off when I seen him pull up. I got out and introduced myself. Told him thanks for serving and to be safe. Aryan, my 9 year old was with me and I told Aryan that he was leaving to fight in the war. Aryan then shoock his hand. The Mustang was loosing air out of the back slick so we told him we had to get it back home and then took off. Aryan kept asking me stuff in the car. I couldn't hear him real good but he was asking about the guy. He said something about if he was leaving to go fight the guy that was killing his own people. Not paying much attention I said yes to him. He came back and was telling Amy about it and overheard what he was saying. He said that he may make it back home safe because the guy that run that country was killing his own people more than our guys. I had to go in and explain where he was going. He thought he was going to Libya. It's sad to see even our young kids worry about war and what is happening. I'm very proud of our men and women that are serving. I just wish it would all stop soon and the fighting ends.
