Joined SCCA
Since I wanted to try some road course tracks in the Z06, last year I joined NASA (National AutoSport Association). Most of the stuff they do is too far away and with the increased cost of fuel I decided to go a different route this year. This year I joined the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America). There is a local chapter in Cincinnati & they do some autoX stuff within a reasonable drive that the whole family can drive the cars in. I'm a little concerned because they have a 96 decibel limit on exhaust note and I think the Z06 might exceed that. I'm running the OEM mufflers but with long tubes & no pup cats, it's probably over the limit.
Looking forward to having a little fun with it.

Re: Joined SCCA
I got invites from them a few years back to run one of their city road races. It sounds like fun. One of the guys was a member of this forum but he hasn't been on here in over a year or more.

That always sounded fun to me. Just wish I had a vehicle that I could run in it.

We aren't going to worry about being competitive or anything like that. My plan is to go out & learn about it and have some family fun.
I think you can bring anything you want out & try it for funzies.

Some friends of mine and I Road Raced a couple of years back in the late 60's. We had a riot racing at Road America, Road Atlanta, Lime Rock, Mid America, Nelsons Ledges and others. After that we spent a few seasons in the dirt @ Eldora. We did better at the road racing, dirt's tough.
