Re: Aryan's 1979 Firebird ~ The Fire Chicken
So Rick tells me not to worry he will fix it. So the other day I head to The DMV over there. I walk in and the place is packed. 4th time at a DMV. I get up to the front of the line to only find out I'm in the wrong line. I have to start all over. I get up to the next line and make it to a clerk. I tell her everything and she then tells me the title wasn't done in Clermont Co. and I'd have to go to Brown Co. I told her Hamilton Co told me to come here. She looks at the title again and then tells me it won't do any good anyway. The title is too old.
What? She then tells me that none of the DMV's can bring anything up on the computer because they trash all the records after so many years.

My blood preasure is now going through the roof. She ask someone else that is in charge to help me out. The lady was real nice. She said she could fix it if I brought Rick in. I explained about not being able to get a hold of him but I was going to try. She then gave me some papers and said if he can't make it in to get him to fill these out and she would take care of it.

Re: Aryan's 1979 Firebird ~ The Fire Chicken
So more calls to Travis but no one picks up the phone. I look online and Riggs posts a link on hert with the Mustang on CL. I look and it's Rick. He didn't trade it off for a Dart. That was all blow! I replied to his CL add and give him an earfull. Most have seen me go off. It was beyond that. HAhA h
He calls and leaves a measage saying not to worry that he will fix it. lol This guy is a work of art. So I take off in search of Travis. I find his house and knock on the door. I was expecting the worse. After all this I figured I wouldn't get anything done. His wife opens the door and I explain to her what all is going on. She's seems to be a very sweet lady and says there should not be any problems getting Travis to sign the papers and that they just went through the same thing with a car they bought. Travis was gone but I got his cell number and they let me know to stop the next day and he would sign them.

Re: Aryan's 1979 Firebird ~ The Fire Chicken
So today I call Travis and tell him I'm leaving the house and will be there in a hour. I can get tags Monday and be done with this headache. I drive up there and open the folder of papers I have collected trying to get the title fixed and see it has a place for his name and SS # I didn't like that when I seen it. Travis was home and I explained everything. When I showed him the paperwork he didn't want to fill it out because of the part about the SS# He ask when I was going back to the DMV to get this fixed and I said Monday. He said he would meet me there. I understand completely how he feels. I wouldn't have let some stranger run off with my SS # either. I have no idea why they still put that on stuff with all the issue of identity theft.

Re: Aryan's 1979 Firebird ~ The Fire Chicken
Monday I have to call Travis and get him to meet me at the DMV. As of now everything looks good. Travis and I talked for a while. Travis seems to be pretty cool. He doesn't even know this Rick. It was just a CL trade and the truck he got for the Firebird blew up as he pulled into the driveway.
He did give me a little history on the car that I didn't know which was cool.

Re: Aryan's 1979 Firebird ~ The Fire Chicken
Not sure right now without going through my email but Rick lives in IN. I'm sure he is just jumping titles on every car he has. I may look into the laws a bit and if it's what I think it is I'll get a title for the Stang and have a repo company pick it up.falconwagon62 wrote:I feel you pain brother, at least its only a county or two away, not 100's of miles.....What is rick's last name, I have ALOT of buddies still in Clermont and Brown...pain is a good teacher, always check the whole VIN and title....had small issue with AMX...he signed it in the wrong area....

Re: Aryan's 1979 Firebird ~ The Fire Chicken
This has been nuts. Last Friday I made it back to my DMV. With a little help from some people in Ohio BMV and Ky's DMV the Firebird is now 100% legal! The right VIN is on the title! I got the tags! The first time the car was put in the system in 1979 they messed up the VIN. There was no record of the car or should I say the right VIN since it was bought from the dealership as a new car. Aryan is happy!
