rearend? altered, minitubbed, or cut 1'4s

Post by RebStew on January 25th 2008, 3:36 pm

Okay. this is not a for sure thing but I wanted to know what you guys thought about the rearend of the Falcon. The front end is almost finished and I was wondering what you guys liked? altered wheelbase which is pulling the rearend forward to gain traction and get the front wheels up in the air.

shoving the rims inboard so they clear the stock outer 1/4's or just cut the 1'4's and let the tires stick out the side.
note the lack of glass other than the windshield??

the inner fenderwells are already cut so we could mini tub it.
. we could even mini tub it and drill a 1 inch farther forward hole in the spring saddle to move it forward an inch. this has been done on F bodies a lot to center the rear tire in the wheelwell. with the tires we are going to run the 1/4's are going to be reshaped no matter what. the stock wheelwell is not centered and will have to be cut at the front lower section.. what do you guys think?

I agree with 6-71 that would look great and it would also put on a good show when you pull the wheels out of the hole at the track

Personally I would hate to cut out the1/4's and round them out as they are so nice, plus I think it look's like a Hobby Stock (bomber for you old time dirt track guys) roundy rounder...Moving it forward a bit and cutting out the inside of the 1/4 might be the way to go. We really need a rear and the wheel's and tires were gonna run to see what work's best in my stinky opinion....
