1950 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe

Post by Roller Coaster on June 4th 2009, 8:10 pm

I am seriously considering purchasing a 1950 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe four door to build a traditional hot rod out of, not a rat rod!!! My question is, from your personal experience how dificult is it to obtain brake parts for this vehicle?

I am having a problem locating wheel cylinders front and rear (I can get rebuild kits, but I do not know the condition of the existing) and brake shoes front and rear.

49-54nca has brake parts. I bought hoses, shoes, and wheel cylinder rebuild kits at a local parts store. I'm going to use a master cylinder and booster off a camaro on my 52. Wheel bearings are high too. If you need those, I would go with the disc brake setup. It would be cheaper than buying all those bearings and parts. I'm actually going to a junkyard tomorrow.

What is a solid (needs floor plan drivers and passangers only) 1950 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe four door worth if it runs and drives (three speed manual), just doesn't stop?

It's worth what you're willing to pay for it, and not a penny more...
