Gasser Meets (time to wrench)

Post by RebStew on Sun Nov 18, 2007 12:22 pm

Thought I'd post this up so we can try to let everyone see when we are going to do some work on the gasser. anyone that can make it to one of the days/nights we are going to work on it, please do.. we can always use a hand. even if there is not enough room for everyone to do what we are doing that night you can work on something else. sanding the inside, cleaning chrome or whatever.

Ryan I wasn't for sure what or when you was wanting to mess with the gasser again. we spoke of Monday but I'm not for sure you will feel like screwing with it after moving a house like you did.
this is going to be a crazy week for me. I can make it out there Monday anytime after 4. after Monday I'm going to be swamped around here till a few days after after Thanksgiving weekend. I have a big family and X mas and turkey day takes over my life every year around this time. work around the house, hanging X-mas lights, putting up the tree shopping and then all the family stuff for Thanksgiving.
let me know if you feel like messing with the gasser on monday. be nice if we could get the front end hung. if we do work on it monday we could use a hand if anyone is free.

Monday is fine....The house is still on its foundation, and we are up against septic tank laws so were gonna make some phone calls but we did get the house jacked up and square which was a major job...I'm good for all day on Monday..

Is anybody opposed to making Wednesday a set date from here on out as the gasser wrench night??? I know with holidays fast approaching it can be rough but maybe if we set a day/night that way we can make arrangements to get some stuff done.My weekends are sketchy at best because of Football and Girls on the Run (which ends Sat. ) and helping out in Somerset with my parents house. So let me know what everyone thinks......Ryan

I'm good with wensdays for now till you get some free time. bad thing is everyone is working on wensday so we are going to be a low on hands. we can do what we can till something breaks. the weekend would be the best bet to gets some help though. we may be able to get some of the ohio guys down to help but not during the week. everyone has to get up to go to work.

weekend would be better for me but depending on what days we do it during the week I should be able to make it. I got school on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday morning.

It looks like for tommorow we should have a full house, Steve ,Myself, Ferrell, my brother Kevin, and Cole if he can pull it off. My plan is to get my dead ass out of bed when the kids go to school , get the welder unhooked from Ferrells and move my car from the garage so we have room. And if anybody wants to work on it Sat. or Sun I'm game just let me know...

thanks guys for the help today.
Ryan and his brother Kevin was there this morning. I left around 3:30 and made it back around 6 or so. Ronnie and Cole showed up to help finish the night with Ryan and me. wasn't a bad day. we need some bushings for the spring eyes to get everything plum before our final welds.
a steering box and arm and four 7/8" bushings and we have the front end licked. Razz
Later Cole stopped in at my house for some late dinner and to help toss a few lights on the Christmas tree. then we went to JRiggs house to hang out a few minutes with him on his birthday.

Steve we need 8 bushings 4 per spring if were talking the Top Hat style if were talking a straight push in the four would work but were going to have friction wear on the shakles and sping mount where the rub against each outher.Just a thought....

I got a call from Ryan this morning. he scored some bushings so we are good on the bushings. his brother Kevin found some that he had stashed away.

Anybody up for a Tuesday evening, or Wednesday morning/afternoon/evening wrench session? I'm going to get some bolts tommorow sized for the bushings so we can get things in there right spots, and then I can progress forward with the final welding of everything.Just let me know if anybody is up for a few hours of wrenching...Ryan
