looking for a 1/4 mile body

Post by RebStew on October 26th 2007, 12:26 am

the rail looks like it will remain in Ohio. I thought it would be nice to get a motor in it so we could have some fun but there is to much politics involved with it to have it has a club racer. If anyone knows where we can find a 72 or down car body cheap let me know.I don't care if it's a Ford Chevy or Nopar. we can put what ever we want in it. I will spring for the body if we can find one under $175.00. it doesn't matter what it looks like. I figured we could build a 1/4 car for next summer. it will belong to the club. a member or a set of members will not own it. it will be owned by the club. all club member will be able to drive it, beat, wrench on it, if they wish to. what do you guys think about building a budget beater. gut it, strip it down to loose weight and toss in a stock engine and we can cut away at the ET as we beat it.

It's about a 71 Country Squire with a 460 and a C6. Good solid car but no title. That wouldn't matter for a strip teaser! Make him a Kentucky Boy! That way you wouldn't have to play with those Chevies.

I use to have a 67 tempest wagon that I gave a guy when I had to move. he stripped it down gutted it and it's been sitting behind his shop for the last 7 years. it's rough. I ask him about it a year ago and he told me that the car I gave him for free that ran he would now sell it back to me for 500.00. with the motor and inside gutted. what a friend huh. I walked on it. he may have come down on his price by now. I may talk to him. I had a few old cars that I just junked a few months ago that would have been perfect for this. had them forever and they were rotting away . I gave them to the junk man. figures huh.
